Since when is the Bible going to be banned??

So, I was getting my lunch at the local Dog Haus(which used to be a Weinerschnitzel, which incedentally is where Glenn Frey and Jackson Browne brainstormed the idea for "Take it Easy"...those of you who know your 70's will know what I'm talking about), sitting at the window, waiting for my food. Anyways, I guess my burger was taking too long, so the employee running the register was taking food and drinks to the people behind me in line. He comes back into the kiosk/kitchen type area, opens the window and says to me, "Speaking of banned books, pretty soon, the Bible's going to be banned, and then noone will be able to read it's good works."

I figured he was referencing the sticker in the back window of my car which reads, "Read Banned Books", smiled and nodded, whilst I said to myself, "You will not get into a religious debate in the drive-thru of the Dog Haus." It got me thinking though, since when is the Bible going to be banned???

I heard about the drivel during the Presidential Elections regarding the mailing that was distributed in the South, attacking the liberal left for wanting to supposedly ban the Bible. It never got anywhere though, as most people realized that these were inflammatory tactics, calculated to drive the conservatives to the polls. Unfortunately though, there seem to be those out there who believed it wholeheartedly.

Another thing that disturbed me about this exchange is the 'persecution complex' that I've noticed when listening to Christians speak, or reading what they write here on the net. In my honest opinion, I don't think Christians are persecuted 1/4 of what they claim to be suffering. They are the majority, and if anything, persecute each other!!

I honestly don't get it. If someone can enlighten me, please try.

Insightful observation. I won't say that Christians don't take heat from non-believers, but I agree that they do the most damage to each other.

I'd agree with that, Tex.
